This sedimentary rock brooch is made from 6 different layers of beautifully textured acrylics.
Sedimentary rocks are formed by the accumulation or deposition of mineral or organic particles at the Earth's surface over a very long period of time. Sedimentary rocks often have distinctive layering and can contain fossils, making them important for understanding Earth's history.
Three fossils have been laser engraved and hand-painted in the surface of the acrylic, and the layers are secured onto a clear acrylic backing.
The brooch measures 60mm long by 30mm wide and has a stainless steel brooch pin with a locking clasp for added security.

This is a really nice little piece, with rich & vibrant layers. I'm a bit challenged when visualising the size, so had worried I might find it too big to double brooch with. It's not; it's going to be perfect alongside my dinosaur brooches. Another great quality bargain 😊
