The chemical bonds have been engraved into a clear acrylic backing and filled in with black paint. Oxygen and nitrogen atoms are represented in bold pieces of red and blue acrylic.

The caffeine molecule measures 9cm (3.5 inches) in width. The circumference of the necklace including the chain is approximately 21 inches.
